TMS is a leading transportation and parking management firm, providing transportation logistics for complex events in the commercial and government sectors, both in the United States and overseas. On the Commercial side, managing over 100 conventions and special events annually, including NAB, AHR, NBA Finals & All Stars, Kentucky Derby, PGA golf tournaments and music events such as Burning Man, Coachella. On the Government side, TMS is the sole contractor on FEMA's MCEP&OS Contract providing emergency evacuation support to FEMA, state and local governments

 

Procurement Partnerships, Coordinator

Reporting to the VP of Business Initiatives and Partnerships, this is preferably a Miami, Frederick, or Orlando based position, with willingness to consider other locations, in the Procurement Department. The Procurement Department is responsible for chartering all vehicles (motor coaches, school buses, livery vehicles etc.) used by TMS for events managed. This process touches every aspect of the business from the provision of supplier costs and availability assets to the Sales Department, through the contracting of all transportation, to coordination with Operations Department on the ground to ensure that suppliers meet contracted requirements, and the management of all contracted costs from initial deposit requests through to final reconciliation in conjunction with the Accounting Department.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the execution of processes, standards, and operational plans in support of Procurement strategy, including RFPs, negotiation strategy, cost accountability, and/or program execution.
  • Participates in programs for effective vendor selection and management with a view to minimize purchasing costs without compromising quality or reliability of supply.
  • Coordinates resolution of supplier issues or problems.
  • Monitors and coordinates suppliers' schedules as requirements change for assigned events.
  • Authorizes purchase orders, negotiates prices and approves payments to support the procurement process for assigned events.
  • Analyzes and monitors suppliers' performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to help determine need for changes.
  • For onward going programs liaises with both client and supplier in the provision of services for these programs, in such cases preparing both client and supplier contracts, monitoring fulfillment and management of both revenue and costs.
  • On-site support to the Operations team during some of the lager events managed such as Coachella.

 

Candidate Profile

Analytical, creative who can manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. Comfortable resolving issues and maintaining a high standard of customer service. Able to work outside of traditional working hours when needed. Looking to advance their career: upon successful annual review the next step would be promotion to a Manger.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 4 years of prior relevant (supply chain) experience
  • Previous experience in procurement operations or similar environment

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in the transportation or supply logistics industry
  • Advanced MS-Excel/Office skills
  • Spanish: Fluency in both written and spoken language
  • Ambition and ability to conduct continuous improvement to working practices
