Purpose

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Venues & Infrastructure, the Manager, Venues & Infrastructure, is responsible for managing operations of Bus System spaces at tournament stadia.

Qualifications

  • University degree required
  • Fluent in English (fluent in Arabic a plus)

Event Experience

  • Preferably 5 years of progressive responsibilities and work-related experience, and any combination of education and training, which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job, combined with demonstrated professional growth and achievement
  • Ideal candidate possesses previous involvement in planning and operating complex events relative in size and nature to a FIFA World Cup™

Primary Duties

  • Operate bus transport spaces at stadiums, including permanent and temporary infrastructure
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including operations plans for each venue
  • Maintain relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide leadership and support to the venue system team
  • Maintain project timeline and escalate critical issues as needed
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Manage a large team during operations
  • Drive operational improvements through changes in processes, procedures and organizational design
  • Will work closely with various internal and external parties including security, police, government agencies and tournament operations teams

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • The knowledge and ability to assist as a Subject Matter Expert for all team members regarding operational related issues
  • Experience in managing large teams and working with a variety of stakeholders
  • The successful candidate will need strong event or bus operations acumen and an excellent track record in planning, operations and stakeholder integration
  • Operations-related training, especially regarding venue transport operations
  • Project management experience including planning, design, construction, maintenance and operation of transport venues
  • Experience working with governmental services and agencies
  • Strong management skills and experience leading large teams
  • Comprehensive knowledge of operational principles, techniques and procedures, as well as strategies to assess and resolve operational issues
  • The ability to handle and maintain a high level of confidentiality and common
    sense regarding sensitive information is essential
  • Prepared to take accountability and make decisions
  • Attention to detail
  • Pragmatic and practical with clear eye on solutions
  • Self-motivated and confident in leading a team
  • Hardworking and reliable
  • People-oriented -- enjoys interacting with people and working on group projects
  • Advanced level Microsoft Office Suite
